Behalve onze decembertradities Sinterklaas en Kerstmis is er nog een andere traditie die jaarlijks terug komt in deze maand; Pantone maakt de kleur van het jaar bekend en dat is geworden Marsala

‘Marsala is een natuurlijk robuuste en aardse wijnrode kleur. Het zal ons leven verrijken, want de kleur straalt vertrouwen en stabiliteit uit’. De directrice Leatrice Eiseman voegt eraan toe dat deze krachtige stijlvolle tint universeel aantrekkelijk is en het zich gemakkelijk vertaalt naar de mode-, beauty-, en interieurwereld.  De kleur combineert goed met natuurlijke kleuren als grijs en taupe maar doet het ook goed met zonnige goudkleuren; ik vind persoonlijk het lichtblauw dat je in de foto’s ziet ook erg mooi bij deze kleur combineren!

PS. De naam van deze kleur bracht me wel wat in verwarring; ik dacht in eerste instantie aan een Siciliaanse (dessert)wijn. Ik schreef al eerder over kleurnamen en hoe ieder daar een eigen beleving bij heeft ;-)

*Marsala Pantone Color 2015

Besides our december Sinterklaas and Christmas traditions, there is another tradition that comes back every year in this month; Pantone announces the color of the year Marsala

‘Marsala is a naturally robust and earthy red wine color. It will enrich our lives, because the color exudes confidence and stability in’.  The director Leatrice Eiseman adds that this powerful stylish hue is universally appealing and easily translates to the fashion, beauty and interior world. The color blends well with natural colors like gray and taupe but is also doing well with sunny gold colors; I personally find the light blue you see in the pictures also a very beautiful combination!

PS. The name of this color have brought me some confusion; I thought initially of a Sicilian (dessert) wine. I wrote earlier about color names and how each has there own experience with them ;-) *
